Just when the film industry was coming to terms with the sudden demise of actor Asrani, fans on Saturday were shocked to learn of the sudden passing of actor Satish Shah.

Satish Shah's cause of death

Shah passed away on Saturday afternoon after collapsing suddenly while having lunch, his manager Ramesh Kadatala confirmed.

In a statement to ANI, Ramesh Kadatala recounted the heartbreaking moments surrounding the actor's death.

"Kal lunch karte samaye hua tha (It happened around 2 or 2:45 pm while he was having lunch). Vo khana khaate khaate ek niwala khaye fir collapse hua ( he ate a bite and then collapsed). Kuch half an hour laga ambulane laane mein (It took around half an hour to get the ambulance)...hospital jaane par declare kiya doctor ne..,"

he said.

Fans mourn the loss of comedy greats

Fans across the country took to social media to express their shock and sadness over his sudden demise, calling it 'an end of an era in Indian comedy'. As tributes poured in from all sectors, fans took to their handles to say, "first Asrani, and now Satish Shah."Social media has since been flooded with emotional messages and nostalgic clips, remembering the laughter and timeless characters the two comedy legends brought to screens over decades.

For many, their performances weren’t just entertainment, but a defining part of their childhood. "Asrani and now Satish Shah... an era seems to be ending," a fan tweeted. Another said, "Even before the passing of legend Asrani Sir still has to still sink in, another terrific artist is gone. You will be greatly missed sir.""A very sad news. In quick succession we lost two great comedy actors - Asrani and Satish Shah. While the former dominated the large screen, the latter the small screen.

Satish Shah's funeral

The funeral of the late actor Satish Shah was held at the Pawan Hans crematorium in the Vile Parle West area of Mumbai on Sunday afternoon. Those who arrived to offer condolences included Ratna Pathak Shah, Rajesh Kumar, Roopa Ganguly, Dilip Joshi, Johny Lever, Sumeet Raghvan, Deven Bhojani, Jamnadas Majethia, Aanjjan Srivastav, Ashoke Pandit, Jackie Shroff, and Kunal Kohli, among several others. Several others were seen attending the funeral to pay their respects.
