Five arrested for smuggling army canteen liquor in twin raids

Five men were arrested, and 72 bottles of army canteen liquor was seized by officials of the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department in two separate raids and five men involved in illegal resale were arrested.

In Secunderabad, Dandu Venkatasubbaiah was arrested with 52 bottles of alcohol sourced from Delhi. Investigation revealed that he had been purchasing them for ₹850 and reselling them in Dammaiguda and Nagaram for ₹1,800. The liquor was recovered from a briefcase in his possession and handed over to the Secunderabad excise station.

In another operation near Vikarabad, the enforcement team intercepted a car at Yenkapally X Road and seized 20 bottles of liquor from Haryana. Four men, including Srinath Reddy, Jeevan Reddy, Anvesh Reddy, and Surender Reddy, were arrested, and their vehicle was confiscated. Further investigations are underway.
