Foundation Stone Laid for New Sarwadham Railway Station to Boost Local Economy

Dumka: Godda BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of a railway station at Sarwadham between Kakni and Hansdiha railways stations under the Mohanpur-Hansdiha section of the Eastern Railway’s Asansol division.

The new station will serve as a halt.Dubey said, “The facility will not only benefit passengers but also stimulate local economy and promote regional development. Sarwadham halt station was a long-standing demand of local residents, which will provide direct and convenient rail access to thousands of passengers.”Divisional railway manager (DRM) Vinita Srivasatava said, “The proposed infrastructure will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.34 crore. A wide range of modern, commuter-friendly amenities are being planned for execution.”
