Four get bail in pay-parking assault case at Mapusa

Mapusa: A Mapusa court has granted conditional bail to four individuals accused of assault over a parking dispute in the town recently.Aniket Shirodkar, Saish Govekar, Bhuvan Govekar and Rupsai Arondekar, who were arrested for attacking two workers collecting private pay-parking fees, were granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 25,000 and a local surety of the same amount.

They were also ordered not to pressure or threaten witnesses, not to tamper with evidence, and to appear before the investigating officers for the next five days.They were further ordered not to leave Goa without the permission of the court.The incident took place on Aug 27 at a private pay-parking lot in the premises of a complex at Morod, Mapusa, when one of the four accused persons parked his two-wheeler at a spot where parking was chargeable.When Sandeep Kumar, a worker posted on duty at the parking lot, asked the person to park properly, an argument ensued and the suspects attacked him and another worker, Prakash Talwar.While Talwar was stabbed in the stomach with a knife, Kumar was stabbed on the head with a car key.The Mapusa police subsequently registered a case and arrested Aniket, Saish, Bhuvan and Rupsai.Advocate Vinayak Porob, who appeared on behalf of the suspects, filed a bail application in the court and presented arguments, following which they were granted bail.
