The Denduluru police on Friday (November 7) arrested a five persons, including four minors, for allegedly robbing a man of ₹40,000. The accused followed the complainant on October 28 night, beat him up with sticks and robbed him of the cash near Gangannagudem village in Eluru district, according to Superintendent of Police K. Pratap Shiva Kishore. A team led by Nuzvid Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) K.V.V.N.V. Prasad and Pedavegi Circle Inspector Ch. Rajashekar arrested B. Subramanyam and four juveniles in connection with the case. They are allegedly involved in 12 more theft and other cases in various places in Eluru district, the SP added.
Motorcycle thieves arrested
In a separate case, the Nuzvid police on Friday arrested five persons for allegedly stealing 12 motorcycles in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The police said they seized vehicles worth ₹9.08 lakh from them. The accused committed thefts in Nuzvid Town, Vissannapet, Tiruvuru, Eluru Town and Rural and Ramachandrapuram, the DSP said.
