Four-year-old dies after getting trapped inside parked car near Kulithalai

A four-year-old boy died of suffocation after he accidentally got locked inside a parked car while playing near his house at Kazhugur village, near Kulithalai, in Karur district on Thursday (April 30, 2026).

The deceased, identified as Sanjeevi, was the son of Velu, 36, a daily wage construction worker, and Mariswari, 30. According to police sources, Sanjeevi had been playing with other children in the neighbourhood when he got into a car parked near his house. The vehicle was covered, and the boy is believed to have accidentally shut the door from the inside, leaving himself trapped.
