Rourkela: A fraudster from Sambalpur district was arrested by Dharuadih police in Sundargarh district on Monday on charges of cheating a number of girls on the pretext of providing them employment in tehsil office by posing as a police constable.
He was identified as Tularam Sahu (28) of Badjatiapalli. He was cheating the girls by downloading a fake app “Payatm Spoof”, generating fake invoice through the app and taking money from them for the job.Sahu had created a fake id in Instagram giving his identify as Satya (Fauji), about one year ago. He was targeting innocent girls and was chatting with them. He sued to tell them that they can get the job by paying Rs 10,000 After getting the amount, he used to switch off his mobile phone.On Nov 2, Babi Patel (25) lodged a complaint in Dharuadih police station prompting cops to start the probe. Tularam has confessed to police. He seized three mobile phones, five passbooks, nine cheque books, six debit card/credit card, one pan card, two Adhar card, one tax invoice, among other things.Tularam has also duped four girls under Bhasma police station in Sundargarh district, said Saudamini Nag, IIC, Dharudadih police station.
