Panaji: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Goa on Nov 28 to unveil a 77-foot statue of Lord Ram at the Shree Samsthan Gokarna Partagali Jeevottam Mutt, Canacona, chief minister Pramod Sawant said.
The Mutt is inaugurating the statue as part of its 550th-year celebrations.“On Nov 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Goa to the Partagali Mutt to unveil a 77-foot statue of Prabhu Shree Ram Chandra. We (state BJP unit) held a meeting to discuss the detailed programme of the event,” Sawant said on Tuesday.Shree Samsthan Gokarna Partagali Jeevottam Mutt, Canacona, is the peeth of Shrimad Vidyadheesh Teertha Shreepad Wader Swamiji. Swamiji is the 24th Mathadheesha of the Mutt and is one of the revered Guru Peethas of the Gaud Saraswat Brahmin community.Last year, Shrimad Vidyadheesh Teertha Shreepad Wader Swamiji unveiled the prototype of the 77-foot tall bronze statue of Lord Ram Chandra.
