French Open 2025: Coco Gauff, Mirra Andreeva Move Into Quarterfinals

American tennis star Coco Gauff moved into the quarterfinals of the French Open 2025 with a win over Ekaterina Alexandrova on Monday. The 21-year-old Gauff posted a 6-0, 7-5 victory over Alexandrova to reach the last eight at Roland Garros.

“It was tough. The whole match I think I played well to be honest," said Gauff following her triumph.

Mirra Andreeva also moved into the last eight of the clay court major with her win over Daria Kasatkina as the 18-year-old Russian, registered a 6-3, 7-5 win in a fixture that lasted just over an hour and a half.

“It was a hell of a match," said Andreeva, who is in line to take on the winner of the match between Jessica Pegula and Lois Boisson in the quarterfinals.

Andreeva, the Russian teenager, revealed her delight and relief with her victory over the Russian-born Australian Kasatkina.

“Honestly I’m so so happy I won, I hate playing against her, we practise a lot and even practice is a torture for me," the 18-year-old added.
