Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna and Czech partner Adam Pavlasek were shown the exit door in the ongoing 2025 edition of the French Open as the Indo-Czech duo succumbed to a 2-6 6-7(5) defeat at the hands of Fin Harri Heliovaara and Brit Henry Patten on Sunday.

Bopanna and Pavlasek looked to extend the game to a decider with a gritty second-set showing on the back of a tame first set, but the second-seeded Finnis-Brit pair held their nerve to clinch the tie breaker to register a victory.

Heliovaara and Patten romped to a 5-1 lead in the opening set with a double break before the Fin served out the set flawlessly, concluding the game with an overhead smash on a return.

Bopanna started the second set strongly, holding his serve without dropping a point. Left-handed Patten also started aggressively, delivering measured and powerful angled serves.

Bopanna and Pavlasek found an opportunity at 2-3 in the second set when Patten began game six with a double fault and quickly fell to 0-30. However, the Briton managed to win four consecutive points to escape the threat.

There were no service breaks in the second set, leading to a tie-breaker. The second seeds emerged victorious when Heliovaara hit a stunning service return winner on the first match point.

Yuki Bhambri is also scheduled to play his third-round match with American partner Robert Galloway. They will face the ninth seeds, Christian Harrison and Evan King from the United States.

In the Junior Championship, India’s promising talent Manas Dhamne was eliminated after losing 5-7 3-6 to fellow American qualifier Ronit Karki. The 17-year-old Dhamne had entered the main draw as a qualifier but could not perform at his best on Sunday.
