American tennis star Tommy Paul moved into the quarterfinal of the French Open 2025 with a win over Australian Alexei Popyrin on Sunday.

Paul picked up a 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 win over Popyrin to secure his berth in the last-eight of the clay court major and become the first American man since Andre Agassi in 2003 to reach the quarters at Roland Garros.

There was an upset in the women’s category on Sunday as Elina Svitolina ousted Jasmine Paolini as the Ukrainian moved into the quarters of the event.

The 30-year-old Svitolina rallied to a win despite dropping the opening set to the Italian as she fought her way to a 4-6, 7-6 (8/6), 6-1 triumph over last year’s runner-up.
