For the first time, the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has introduced a QR code system to help people locate the nearest vaccination centre. The National Pulse Polio Programme will start from Sunday and the code is available on the GBA website.
The programme will be implemented by 145 project units under the GBA in collaboration with various organisations. A total of 4,452 vaccination booths will operate, including 3,391 fixed booths, 601 transit teams and 460 mobile teams. Nearly 18,000 vaccinators and 881 supervisors will cover over 28 lakh households and more than 11 lakh children aged 0–5 years, including over 4.6 lakh children in 1,349 slum areas and nearly 12,000 children in migrant communities.
