GFP alleges vote fraud in ’22 polls, inducts 3 ex-sarpanchs

Panaji: Levelling allegations of electoral fraud, GFP on Friday said that irregular voting patterns were visible in the last assembly elections. GFP president Vijai Sardesai said that votes were cast to deliberately alter the results and benefit certain political parties.“Don’t consider vote chori a small issue. Vote chori happened in Goa. Votes were not just stolen; they were also cast to help bring another party up. We have also done our own research, but I don’t want to put out everything,” Sardesai alleged while ruing Congress’ lethargy in putting its house in order.“There are various people in Congress who are new in the party, but they are not together. They are unable to bring out the corruption of BJP.

Putting the Congress house in order is a work in progress; let them complete it. I only feel sad that Congress party, which is the principal opposition party, should be in a stronger position,” said Sardesai. He inducted ex-Mandrem sarpanch Amit Sawant, ex-Dhargal sarpanch Aniket Salgaonkar, and ex-sarpanch of Alorna Mayur Parab into GFP. Sawant was the district general secretary for Congress in 2015 but was no longer actively working with Congress.
