Giannis Antetokounmpo reportedly disrespected in NBA rankings despite dominant season

According to a recent NBA insider's player rating, Giannis Antetokounmpo, the star of the Milwaukee Bucks, was reportedly treated disrespectfully. Over the past ten years, the Bucks have progressed as Antetokounmpo has led them well.

He is among the finest players in the league and the team's best player.

However, the insider reportedly doesn’t believe that. Further defending his remarks, he explained why it was easy as a decision for him to put him in the spot.

Giannis Antetokounmpo ranked fourth in NBA insider list despite MVP-level season

In several recent player rankings, Antetokounmpo was reportedly disrespected despite his record, which includes his performance from only last year. The critic who made the list asserted that Antetokounmpo is the fourth-best player in the league in an episode of Hoops Tonight with Jason Timpf. Luka Doncic, SGA, and Jokic are in front of him. He further explained how he ranked Giannis Antetokounmpo in relation to the other NBA greats and why he is ranked fourth in the league. He then talked about why it could be a wise decision for both teams if the Milwaukee Bucks trade Giannis to the Atlanta Hawks in order to team him with Trae Young.Talking about it, Timpf said:“I have Shay Gilis Alexander at number three and Luca Donuch at number two. This is I'm certain the player ranking that I will catch the most for in this year's list just because of what happened last season…”

Further explaining himself, he said:“Again, two things are true. One, SGA definitely had a way better season than Luca did last year. I would even take it so far as to say Luca was more like a second tier superstar last year with his injury issues and the substantial declines he experienced in some key areas because he was a particularly fat version of himself. That coincided with SGA winning MVP and finals MVP…”He then added:“Luca's situational defensive limitations keep guys like Shay and Giannis close and in the same tier as him…”Last season, Antetokounmpo came in third place in the MVP voting, barely behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic. He averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game during the previous campaign.

He also made 22.2 percent of his 3-point attempts and 60.1 percent of his field goals.

Milwaukee Bucks has reportedly placed high expectations on Myles Turner after Damian Lillard trade

In another news, the Milwaukee Bucks made the intriguing choice to trade Damian Lillard to reportedly create space for Myles Turner. Turner signed a $108.9 million, four-year contract with them. Now, he is reportedly under pressure since an insider recently described him as the difference between a first-round exit and a deep playoff run.

According to Chris Herring of ESPN, the Bucks will only go as far as Turner will. For the upcoming season, he thinks his defense will be particularly important. The insider further said: "Turner was once a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate and still carries a good reputation on that end as a rim protector along with his floor-spacing ability. All of his skills will be necessary to help elevate Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks beyond the first round, which they've failed to do since 2022."The deal that allowed Milwaukee to acquire Turner was also eye-opening.
