‘You can live if you miss… You cannot live if you don’t shoot it.’
Holy f**kin’ airball, Giannis Antetokounmpo did what superstars do.
With the game tied and the clock ticking down, the Milwaukee Bucks forward buried a cold-blooded, turnaround fadeaway at the buzzer to lift his team to a 117-115 win over the Indiana Pacers on Monday night.
The Fadeaway Game-Winner
With the score knotted at 115-115, Antetokounmpo backed down Aaron Nesmith at the left elbow before spinning into a high-arcing fadeaway over a late double-team from Isaiah Jackson.
The shot sailed just beyond Jackson’s fingertips and splashed through as time expired — silencing the Gainbridge Fieldhouse crowd and sealing Giannis’ game-high 33-point night.
The two-time MVP added 13 rebounds for his fifth double-double in six games and has now scored at least 30 points in five of his last six outings.
Pacers Fall Short Again
It was another heartbreaker for Indiana, whose early-season struggles continued. The reigning Eastern Conference champions dropped to 1-6, with four of those losses coming by six points or fewer.
Pascal Siakam led the Pacers with 32 points, while Jackson notched a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Jarace Walker chipped in 18 points, eight boards and five assists, and Nesmith scored 17 — including the game-tying layup with 15 seconds left that briefly gave Indiana hope.
Milwaukee committed 18 turnovers and shot a poor 13-of-22 from the free-throw line, nearly gifting Indiana an opening. After AJ Green missed one of two foul shots to give Milwaukee a one-point cushion, Nesmith drove through traffic to even things up before Giannis delivered the dagger.
Kyle Kuzma (15 points) and Cole Anthony (11 points) provided key support off the bench for Milwaukee, while Myles Turner chipped in nine points, seven rebounds and five blocks against his former team.
