As per the initial reports, Shelke's car rammed a parked container on the Samruddhi Expressway near Dhotre village.

Jitendra Shelke and his wife were killed in the accident.

In a tragic road accident on the Samruddhi Mahamarg, also known as the Mumbai–Nagpur Expressway, Jitendra Shelke, a close associate of Nashik ‘godman’ Ashok Kharat, and his wife were killed on Friday.

The incident occurred when the car they were travelling in from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Shirdi rammed into a parked container near Dhotre village on the expressway. Initial information suggests that the vehicle crashed into the rear of the stationary container along the roadside.

Shelke, who also served as vice-president of Ashok Kharat’s Shivanika Trust, was reportedly travelling with his family at the time of the accident. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the car completely mangled.
