ISRO’s Gaganyaan reaches 90% completion
BENGALURU: Godrej Enterprises Group’s aerospace business has delivered the first human-rated L110 Vikas engine to Isro’s liquid propulsion systems centre for the Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission.
The engine, a core component of the LVM-3 launch vehicle - a human-rated version of which (HRLV) will be used for Gaganyaan - marks a step in India’s journey towards sending astronauts into space.“This achievement highlights Godrej Enterprises Group’s steadfast commitment to indigenous manufacturing excellence and its contribution to India’s Make in India vision for space exploration,” Godrej said.The Gaganyaan mission will carry Indian astronauts into space and bring them back safely. Maneck Behramkamdin, Executive Vice President & Business Head, Aerospace business, a part of Godrej Enterprises Group, said: "This is not just a milestone for Godrej but also a matter of immense national pride. Contributing to India’s first human spaceflight programme is both an honour and a responsibility that we carry with the highest commitment.”Behramkamdin added that the achievement shows the firm's capability to deliver mission-critical technology.
