Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, on Friday stressed that the Union government is committed to bringing in transparency and a corruption-free system in all sectors, and in this regard, a merit-based recruitment process is being held in a completely transparent manner.

Inaugurating the Rozgar Mela, organised by the India Post in association with various departments at KLE Technological University here, Mr. Joshi called on the youths to contribute towards the nation’s growth through their efficiency, hard work, and commitment.

Mr. Joshi said that there was no dearth of jobs for the present-day youth, but they had the responsibility of properly utilising the opportunities. “The future of India lies in the hands of the youth. They should involve themselves in the field of science and technology and innovations. This is new India’s strength,” he said.

The Union minister claimed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union government had opened up new avenues for crores of youths through initiatives like skill development programmes, start-up encouragement, and employment generation. He said the slogan ‘Government work is God’s work’ would be more meaningful if everyone discharged their responsibilities with honesty and commitment. “Winning the trust of the citizens itself is true service to the nation,” he said.

During the Rozgar Mela, appointment orders were given to a total of 65 candidates, including 42 candidates in the India Post, 14 in the Indian Railways, five in the State Bank of India, and four in the CRPF.

MLA Mahesh Tenginakai, officials of India Post, and other departments were present.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the newly recruited candidates across the nation via virtual mode.
