HYDERABAD

General secretary of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) R.S. Praveen Kumar has accused the State government of conspiring to implicate politicians in the phone-tapping case and claimed that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is pressurising the police officers handling the case to include the names of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and former ministers K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said the investigation was supposed to progress based on the technical evidence, but there is no proof so far. The second SIT (special investigation team) was appointed only with an ulterior motive of implicating KCR, KTR and Harish Rao. The government had not filed the chargesheet even after examining about 350 witnesses. Former chief of the special intelligence branch) T. Prabhakar Rao was treated like a hardcore criminal for 18 days in the jail, he alleged.
