Ground Report: National highway to Dharali washed away after Uttarkashi cloudburst

At least four people lost their lives and several remain missing after a cloudburst triggered flash floods in the Dharali region of Uttarkashi on Tuesday. Rescue operations are underway with teams from the police, Army, NDRF, and SDRF actively engaged in the search and relief efforts.

With India Today’s Ashutosh Mishra reporting from the ground, visuals reveal that a 150-metre stretch of the Gangotri National Highway has been completely washed away in Bhatwadi. The Bhagirathi River is in full spate, severely hampering rescue operations and forcing evacuations along its banks.
