Officials in Mysuru district have been directed to focus on extending the benefits of the five guarantee schemes to remote and tribal-dominated areas. They have been asked to initiate more awareness drives in these regions to inform people about the schemes and how they can benefit from the same.

In this connection, Mysuru District Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority Chairman Arun Kumar S. on Friday held a review meeting and instructed the officials to create awareness among the people by visiting villages and ensuring that the benefits reach all eligible beneficiaries.

Presiding over the meeting held at the zilla panchayat, Mr. Kumar directed the officials to organise awareness camps, especially in remote and tribal areas, to educate people about the guarantee schemes. “They must verify whether all eligible persons are receiving the benefits. If any applications have been rejected, they should be reviewed again to ensure that no eligible person is left out,” he stated.

Referring to the Anna Bhagya rice distribution scheme, he said that complaints have been received from certain areas regarding the poor quality of rice and ragi being distributed. “Officials concerned should visit the godowns and verify the quality of food grains,” Mr. Kumar said.

Speaking about the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, Mr. Kumar said that there have been complaints that many women are yet to receive the benefit. Officials must ensure that payments are being made properly and on time, he added.

There were no major issues in the Yuva Nidhi scheme, but officials should still verify whether the benefits are reaching all the eligible young people in rural areas, he said.

On the Shakti scheme, Mr. Kumar said that several complaints have been reported and must be resolved at the earliest by taking necessary action. However, he appreciated the smooth and complaint-free implementation of the Gruha Jyothi scheme and urged officials to continue the good work.

“No negative reports or controversies should arise on any guarantee scheme. Every department must work responsibly to ensure that all schemes reach the eligible beneficiaries,” Mr. Kumat stated at the meeting.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer S. Yukesh Kumar and other members were present.
