Gurgaon encounter: Notorious shooter of Rohit Godara gang held by STF after gunfight

GURGAON: A notorious shooter and member of the US-based gangster Rohit Godara gang was apprehended on Sunday morning following an encounter with the STF, Gurgaon.The victim suffered a bullet near his right knee. Total of four bullets were fired at the spot around 2am.The accused, also identified as Rohit, with a reward of Rs25,000, is a resident of Bharaf Village, Mahendragarh.

Acting on credible information received by Inspector Narender Chauhan, in charge of STF Unit Gurgaon, the STF team established a naka near Baliyawas Village on the Faridabad-Gurugram road. Rohit was intercepted while planning a major crime in Gurgaon. Upon interception, the accused opened fire at the cops.

The cops fired in retaliation. After a brief exchange of fire, the accused was apprehended. During the operation, Rohit sustained bullet injuries.The injured accused was taken to General Hospital here and subsequently referred to PGIMS Rohtak. Rohit was earlier involved in four criminal cases, including two attempt-to-murder cases, rioting, and Arms Act violations in Rajasthan and Haryana.
