The iconic 'The Exorcist' franchise is getting a fresh start with a new film helmed by director Mike Flanagan. Young actor Jacobi Jupe, known for 'Hamnet,' joins Scarlett Johansson in this bold reimagining. New cast member for the latest ‘The Exorcist’ film
Deadline reported recently that child actor Jacobi Jupe, who had his breakout role in ‘Hamnet,’ is going to be joining the latest installment of the franchise. Jupe is fairly new to the film industry and has only worked in a few other films and smaller projects so far. He will be starring alongside seasoned actress Scarlett Johansson, who is best known for her portrayal of The Black Widow in ‘The Avengers’ franchise. The latest installment is being led by none other than writer-director Mike Flanagan.
He is best known for his work on projects like ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’, ‘Gerald’s Game’, ‘Doctor Sleep’, ‘The Haunting of Hill House’, and ‘The Life of Chuck.’
About Jacobi Jupe
The child actor has been active in the entertainment industry for the past few years and has worked on a handful of projects. These include his breakout role in ‘Hamnet’, along with David Lowery’s ‘Peter Pan and Wendy’, where he played the character Michael Darling.
Other than that, Jupe also appeared in the psychological thriller series ‘Before’ last year, as well as ‘Britannia’ and musical podcast ‘Cupid.’
About the new ‘Exorcist’ film
The new film is being helmed as a bold new take on the franchise and the general plot of exorcisms and possessions. It has been confirmed that the film will not act as a sequel to the last film in the series, ‘Exorcist: Believer,’ which was released in 2023. The film was not well received by fans and critics alike.
