Sri Adibhatla Foundation president Ananda Narayanadasu on Sunday urged the State government to introduce Harikatha Ganam as one of the courses in the Government Music College in Vizianagaram, as many youngsters are keen to learn Harikatha which had brought laurels to the Fort City worldwide through the contribution to the great art by ‘Harikatha Pitamaha’ Adibhatla Narayanadasu.
On the occasion of his 161st birth anniversary, several poets and writers offered floral tributes to the portrait of Adibhatla Narayanadasu at the his house in Vizianagaram.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anand said that Harikatha would help youngsters learn music, dance, literature, languages and develop oratory skills. He said that the introduction of the course was the need of the hour to protect the great art for the benefit of future generations.
Along with the Foundation’s members A. Ananda Manjusha, Rajya Lakshmi and Srikanth, Mr. Anand felicitated senior Harikatha artist J.G. Narayana, deputy treasury officer-Bobbili P.V. Padmanabham, Katha Sravanti founder P. Bhogarao and BJP senior leader Bavireddi Shiva Prasad Reddy.
