Haryana crop damage portal to remain open till Aug 31

Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday announced that the e-Kshatipurti portal will remain open until Aug 31, allowing farmers from 188 flood-affected villages across seven districts to register claims for crop damage caused by recent flooding, standing water, and heavy rainfall.According to an official spokesperson from the department concerned, the affected villages have been identified based on reports submitted by the respective deputy commissioners. Hisar has the highest number of affected villages at 85, followed by Bhiwani with 43, Rohtak with 21, Palwal with 17, Charkhi Dadri with 13, Rewari with 7, and Sirsa with 2 villages. The portal has been specifically opened for farmers from these villages to facilitate the registration of crop damage claims.The spokesperson also said that district revenue officials will verify the claims submitted on the portal through a Special Girdawari. Based on this assessment, compensation will be disbursed in accordance with the norms laid out under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). The spokesperson urged all eligible farmers to register their claims at the earliest to ensure timely processing.

Clarifying the scope of the portal, the spokesperson emphasised that incidents involving floods, standing water, and heavy rainfall are covered under the SDRF norms for compensation. Once a farmer registers a claim, the verification and assessment process will be carried out by revenue officials including the Patwari, Kanungo, circle revenue officer, district revenue officer (DRO), sub-divisional officer (civil), deputy commissioner, and the concerned divisional commissioner.
