Hazaribag ASI Julius Marandi Dies Under Suspicious Circumstances in Barkatha

Hazaribag: An assistant sub-inspector Julius Marandi (45), posted at Barkatha police station, died under suspicious circumstances on Friday morning. He had recently been transferred to the district headquarters and had come to Barkatha to hand over charge.

Sources said that Marandi had dinner on Thursday night and went to sleep in his room at the police station. He didn’t wake up in the morning when fellow policemen entered the room. He was rushed to the CHC, where doctors declared him dead. Sources claimed that the death could be due to cold but Barhi SDPO Ajit Kumar Vimal stated that the exact cause of death would be known only after the post-mortem report. “It is too early to say anything,” he said.
