Hazaribag: Five miscreants were arrested by the Hazaribag police late Saturday night when they were allegedly planning to commit a crime in Korra police station limits.Sadar SDPO Amit Anand said, “SP Anjani Anjan received a tip-off that miscreants were conspiring to commit a crime near the Canary Hill forest area.

On seeing the police, the men tried to flee, but five of them were caught after a brief chase.”“Preliminary interrogation revealed the gang’s involvement in several cases of theft and robbery across the district. Further investigation is underway to identify and arrest other members of the gang,” he added.One country-made pistol, two live cartridges, a mobile phone, and Rs 90,000 in cash were seized from the possession of the arrested accused, police said.Urging the public to immediately share any suspicious information with the nearest police station to help maintain law and order in the city, SP Anjan said, “Patrolling and surveillance has been intensified in sensitive areas to prevent any criminal activity during the festive season.”
