Hazaribagh Police Seize 48kg Ganja, Arrest Suspect in Daru Drug Bust

Hazaribag: Daru police have seized 48 kg of ganja and arrested one person during a special drive near the Shivane River under the Tatijharia police limits on Friday.SDPO Baijnath Prasad said acting on a tip-off, the police team laid a trap and intercepted the accused, identified as Chandan Kumar, while he was allegedly transporting the contraband from Siliguri towards Ranchi.The seized ganja was estimated to be worth several lakhs in the illegal market. A case has been registered with the Daru police station under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway. Prasad said, “Efforts are on to nab other persons involved in the racket.”During interrogation, he told the police that he smuggled ganja in collaboration with his associates — vehicle owner Vishwanath Sarkar from Siliguri in West Bengal and Mintu Singh from Ranchi.
