According to Dallas Mavericks guard Klay Thompson, the best power forward of his generation is his teammate Anthony Davis. Speaking about his skill, he boldly asserted that the Mavs would have the league's finest front court, when AD was healthy.

It would have been a lineup consisting of Daniel Gafford, Derrick Lively Jr.

, Cooper Flagg, and PJ Washington. Thompson, who has watched AD play for a while, is obviously well-versed on AD.

Klay Thompson crowns Anthony Davis as the league’s ultimate power forward

High hopes are set for the Dallas Mavericks as they enter the 2025-2026 NBA season. Meanwhile, the team’s All-Star guard Klay Thompson is very confident in Dallas’ potential, complimenting the team’s frontcourt. On the other hand, Anthony Davis is expected to come back from his injury in time to start the season. Now, commenting on the L.A. Laker veteran Michael Cooper's podcast, Klay admitted that he was thrilled about what the team would be able to do in the next season. He referred to the team's depth as one of the strongest points and called Anthony Davis as "the best power forward of his generation."

According to Joey Mistretta of Clutch Points, he also said: “I mean, AD, when he’s healthy, is the best power forward, maybe of my generation.

I mean, you’ve seen him up close with the Lakers... He is a two-way force. I mean, there’s not many big men who can do what he does, as far as handles, his blocking shot ability, his jumpshot… I think we personally have the best front court in the NBA when healthy.” He continued:"We have so much depth… And then getting a guy like D-Lo and having guard depth, I'm just really excited."

Anthony Davis’ health could define Dallas Mavericks’ Western Conference hopes

AD has been outstanding on defense throughout his career. Last season, the Dallas Mavericks transferred franchise star Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis. Players on the Mavericks have praised Davis, despite the fact that many believe the deal wasn't the right one. Over his career, he has won three block titles, five All-NBA, five All-Defense, ten All-Star selections, and an NBA championship with the L.A. Lakers. When everything is said and done, he will have an easy path to the Hall of Fame.

However, due to injury, he only played in nine games in a season after moving to Dallas. While he was there, he scored an average of 20.0 points and 10.1 rebounds. If he is in top form and remains healthy, he and the Dallas Mavericks will end up with a better opportunity to win the Western Conference title next season. The Dallas frontcourt will certainly be pivotal to the 2025-2026 season of the NBA. Although AD can play the five, Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford are maybe the league's best center pair. However, Davis will have enough time at power forward with the aforementioned centers on the roster. Also read: When in Taurasi releasing?
