INDORE: In the ongoing investigation into the high-profile Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, police have arrested five people, including Raj Kushwaha. As the case unfolds, Raj’s family has spoken out, asserting his innocence and claiming he is being falsely implicated.Raj Kushwaha's mother, defending her 20-year-old son, said he is being falsely accused.I request the government to prove his innocence. He is innocent, she said, breaking down in front of reporters.“My son cannot do anything like this. He is just 20 years old. He is my everything. My son worked in Sonam's brother's factory. He is being falsely accused. He is innocent,” Raj's mother said.Raj’s sister also defended him, insisting that both her brothers—Raj and Vicky—were not involved in any criminal activity.
“Vicky and Raj both are my brothers. They can never do something like this. My brother Raj did not go anywhere. You can ask the people at his office. My only demand is that my brother should be released. He is not involved in the murder. My brother is innocent,” she said.Raj Kushwaha had worked in the family’s business, handling billing and accounts. No one suspected the designs he was hiding behind his calm exterior, say police.
While Meghalaya police and the two families were frantically searching for the couple in Meghalaya, Raj remained in Indore — playing his part to perfection, say investigators.Police on Monday alleged that 24-year-old Sonam orchestrated the murder of her 28-year-old husband with the help of four men with no prior criminal record — one of whom was her boyfriend, Raj Kushwaha, 21, an employee in her father's business.Apart from Raj, the arrested suspects include Akash Rajput, 21, who was caught in Lalitpur (UP); Vishal Singh Chauhan, 22, in Indore; and Anand Kurmi, 23, who was nabbed in Bina, Madhya Pradesh.
