Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday held discussions with leaders of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) Biodesign Alliance on advancing healthcare innovation, medical technology, and entrepreneurial capacity building in India, with emphasis on positioning Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) as a hub for transforming healthcare delivery with advanced technologies.
The Alliance representatives from the U.S.A., Australia, Israel, Taiwan, Japan, Ireland and Singapore participated in the meeting.
The dialogue with Rakesh Kalapala, president of AI & MedTech Alliance Foundation, Anurag Mairal of Stanford Biodesign faculty, and Naresh Kumar Pagidimarry, Director of Bharat Biodesign, culminated in the launch of a pioneering initiative called the Bharat Biodesign Research and Innovation (BRAIN) Program for the Future of Health, which will take off at the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub, Amaravati.
The Bharat BRAIN Program will focus on preventive healthcare and predictive analysis. Its agenda is to strengthen healthcare innovation in A.P. by adopting global best practices, organise collaborative training and research in bio-design, develop a startup pipeline with the collaboration of industry and investors, and address rural and urban healthcare challenges.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Naidu said the Bharat BRAIN Program could be scaled across India and emerging markets and expressed confidence that it would help in improving healthcare access, affordability, and quality for the citizens.
