Heavy rain lashes parts of Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam: Parts of Andhra Pradesh experienced moderate to heavy rainfall between Friday morning and Saturday morning. The weathermen stated an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over the west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Coastal Andhra Pradesh at 5.8 km above mean sea level.The weather agency mentioned that heavy rain is likely at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema. Gusty winds speed reaching 40-50 Kmph are likely at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema for the next two to three days.Kukunoor in Eluru district recorded 9 cm of rainfall between June 26 and June 27, followed by 7 cm of rainfall each in Kaikalur (Eluru) and Masulipatnam (Krishna), 6cm of rainfall in Bhimadole ( Eluru), 5 cm of rainfall each in Gudivada ( Krishna) and Chodavaram ( Anakapalli), and 4 cm of rainfall each in Tanuku (West Godavari), Peapully and Owk (Nandyal).
