Ranchi: Lasun bombs, aerial firecrackers, Charkis, Chutputs, and green crackers are experiencing high demand at firecracker shops in Ranchi, traders stated. These items, particularly popular among children, are sought after during the ongoing firecracker market in the state capital’s Morabadi area.Subham Mishra, a stall owner at the Morhabadi fair, confirmed that his offerings comply with safety guidelines. “Only crackers manufactured as per the guidelines are sold in my stall,” Mishra said. He highlighted the Drone firecracker as a new favourite this year among children. The drone firecracker ascends above the ground and emits light, with a box priced around Rs 200.Mishra also sells varieties such as 60 sounds and 100 sounds crackers, with prices ranging from Rs 30 to Rs 3,350.
Large sparkles remain highly demanded. “All crackers sold are Indian and SCRI-NEERI certified products,” he added. The Morhabadi firecracker fair is scheduled to continue until October 20. Fazal Murtaza, another seller, noted that children are particularly fond of ‘lasoon’ bombs and Chutputs. “You only have to hurl the small ‘lasoon’-like bombs on the ground for them to burst, and children love it,” Murtaza explained.
Chutputs, which shoot upwards to a height of four to five feet releasing sparks and lights, are also in great demand.A box of 10 Chutputs is available for around Rs 100 in the retail market. Other popular items include Chakkars and aerial products like repeaters, which fire multiple shots continuously, creating momentary flower displays in the sky. Gauhar Murtaza, another stall owner, said that his firecrackers range from Rs 50 to Rs 4,000 per packet.
