The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hit back at Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi after he alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi “surrendered" after a call from US President Donald Trump during the India-Pakistan military conflict after Operation Sindoor.
Following the Congress MP’s remark, BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said that the LoP’s hearts beat for Pakistan and dismissed his statement as a reflection of his values.
“Rahul Gandhi’s words reflect his values as he makes such indecent remarks against the country’s Prime Minister. But this is what can be expected from Rahul Gandhi, whose heart beats for Pakistan," he said.
Bhandari credited PM Modi for giving a befitting reply to Pakistan’s terror masters. “From Salman Khurshid to Shashi Tharoor, every Congress leader is talking about this and Pakistan itself is giving evidence of this… The people of the country see this uncivilised Rahul Gandhi as an agent of Pakistan," he added.
The BJP leader also referred to an incident where Gandhi did not remove his shoes when he was paying a floral tribute to the statue of his grandmother and former PM Indira Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi compared the Modi government to the regime of his grandmother, former PM Indira Gandhi, saying she didn’t back down during the 1971 war even when the US sent its Seventh Fleet.
“A call came from Trump and Narendra ji immediately surrendered – history is a witness, this is the character of BJP-RSS, they always bow down," he said during the launch of the Congress’ ‘Sangthan Srijan Abhiyan’ in Bhopal in the presence of Congress leaders and workers.
“I know BJP-RSS people; if you put even a little pressure and give them just a slight push, they run away out of fear," he said.
The Congress from Rae Bareli stated that India broke Pakistan in 1971 despite America’s threat. “Congress’s Babbar Sher and lionesses fight with superpowers, they never bowed down," he added.
He said no phone call came during the 1971 war. “Even though the 7th fleet, weapons, and an aircraft carrier arrived, Indira Gandhi didn’t surrender and said she would do whatever she wanted," Rahul Gandhi said.
“(Mahatma) Gandhi, (Jawaharlal) Nehru, and (Vallabh Bhai) Patel never surrendered, they fought superpowers," the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha added.
Did Trump Broker India-Pak Ceasefire?
US officials were engaged with Indian and Pakistan governments after New Delhi struck nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK during Operation Sindoor leading to a military conflict of two nuclear-armed nations over the next two days. On May 10 (evening IST), Trump announced the ceasefire on his Truth Social handle.
However, India’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) rebutted Trump’s claim and said an understanding was reached with Pakistan in direct talks.
According to the MEA statement, the Director General of Military Operations of Pakistan called the DGMO of India and agreed that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land and in the air and sea.
