Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Monday inaugurated the renovated District Police Training Centre at Kotha Mamidipalem near Ongole. The facility has been upgraded with modern amenities for training constables.

Addressing trainees, the Home Minister said constables were the backbone of the Police Department and stressed the need for disciplined and value-based training. She also inaugurated the nine-month basic induction training for 193 SCTPCs (Civil) – 2025 batch candidates from East Godavari district.

Emphasising discipline, service orientation and accountability, she said professional skills, knowledge of laws, modern technology and physical fitness were essential for effective policing. Later, she inspected the barracks, classrooms, parade ground and other infrastructure at the centre.
