Indian iPhone buyers are choosing practicality over premium, with black emerging as the most popular colour choice and 128GB storage dominating sales, according to data from Croma. The analysis of iPhone sales between September 2024 and August 2025 reveals distinct consumer preferences across the country.Black iPhones captured 26.2% of total purchases, closely followed by blue at 23.8% and white at 20.2%. Storage preferences showed an overwhelming tilt toward mid-range options, with 128GB variants accounting for nearly one-third of all iPhone sales, while 256GB models claimed 24.4% market share.
Regular iPhone models drive 86% of iPhone sales in India
The data underscores Indians' value-conscious approach to iPhone purchases, with non-Pro models commanding 86% of total sales compared to just 14% for Pro variants. Standard-size devices including iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16e comprised over 87% of sales, while larger Plus and Pro Max models accounted for only 12.5%.
Geographically, Maharashtra led iPhone sales with over 25% share, followed by Gujarat at 11% and Delhi at 10%, indicating strong demand across western and northern India.
