After the end of the open beta phase of Battlefield 6, DICE added new content in Battlefield 2042 to hook the players to its franchise. The open beta spanned through two weekends and garnered over half-a-million concurrent players, which was a huge success of the franchise, especially after the disastrous performance of BF2042.Well, it seems DICE was able to restore the lost faith of the fans in this long standing franchise, and as a consequence Battlefield 2042 was enriched with a sudden update. Not only that, the premium Battle Pass was made free, with which players can obtain Battlefield 6 items.

The new 9.2.0 update has added numerous fan-favorite contents in Battlefield 2042, like the iconic Iwo Jima map from BF1942, BF1943, and BF5. Along with it, two brand new weapons and two new vehicles have been added as well.

But the highlight of this update has to be the Premium Battle Pass which has been absolutely free for all players, starting from August 18 to October 7, 2025.The most exciting part of this Battle Pass is that players can unlock rewards for Battle Pass 6, which will be reflected directly into the game when you launch it on October 10. The new season in Battlefield 2042 is dedicated to Battlefield 6 itself as it’s named “Road to Battlefield 6.”

This season’s Battle Pass features a total of 60 tiers, and out of those tiers, there are a total of six rewards which are outlined red, which are actual Battlefield 6 items. However, the Battle Pass might be free, but players still need to grind hard to farm XP in order to reach certain tiers and unlock those rewards.
