 Class 4 boy sexually assaulted at knifepoint; case registered under POCSO act

A disturbing incident occurred on Tuesday morning in Bandlaguda, where a Class 4 student reported being threatened and assaulted by an unidentified man near his school. Armed with a knife, the attacker instilled fear in the young boy, who bravely notified the school authorities after the incident. He has since received medical attention for his injuries.

HYDERABAD: A boy studying in Class 4 was allegedly sexually assaulted by an unidentified man near his school on Tuesday morning. The incident reportedly occurred under the Bandlaguda police station limits.According to police, the incident took place at around 8.30am outside the survivor’s school premises when the accused first threatened the victim with a knife, after which the sexual assault took place.

Police said the boy later confided in school officials about the incident and complained of pain, after which he was rushed to hospital where he was treated for his injuries. “We received a complaint from the survivor’s father stating that his son was sexually assaulted by an unidentified man. We have registered a case under the POCSO Act, and we are in the process of tracking down the perpetrator,” said R Devender, station house officer of Bandlaguda police station. The case comes on the heels of a sexual abuse scandal reported from a juvenile home in the city, in which several inmates have come forward with allegations of sexual abuse against the supervisor.
