Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton took his pick in the heated debate about the best footballer of all time between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The seven-time World Champion revealed that he enjoyed watching Messi’s unique ability on the ball and to dictate the run of play like nobody else.

“I keep getting asked this question. I like Messi’s skill," the 38-year-old Brit said.

He also added that he enjoyed watching Brazilian superstar Neymar more than Vinicius Junior, in addition to settling the Messi vs Ronaldo debate.

Hamilton also termed Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna as the best driver in F1 history, while adding that German Sebastian Vettel is the best racer he has had the privilege of coming up against. The Ferrari driver, also cleared up the fact that his home track of Silvestone was his favourite racing circuit.

Hamilton is still in pursuit of his first race victory with Ferrari since his high-profile move earlier this season. Reports indicate that the Italian team may be reluctant to extend Hamilton’s contract beyond its current term, which ties him to Ferrari until the end of the 2026 season.

Hamilton has faced difficulties in achieving a podium finish in the iconic red car, and early signs suggest Ferrari might be eyeing rising star Oliver Bearman as a potential replacement.

Experiencing a challenging debut season with Ferrari, Hamilton expressed a desire to rediscover his joy for racing earlier this year. Although he won a sprint race in China in March, he has yet to secure a podium finish in a grand prix for Ferrari, with both he and the team struggling with the car’s setup. Ferrari’s inconsistency in competing with McLaren for the title has increased scrutiny on both Hamilton and the team.
