Patna: Thieves broke into the house of an Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel under Shahpur police station area of Danapur in Patna and made off with cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees.
The matter came to light when Dheeraj Kumar returned home on Sunday night and saw the broken lock of the main door.According to Dheeraj, all the house belongings were scattered on the floor, almirahs were open and the jewellery was missing from the safe.Upon receiving information, the police reached the spot and started an investigation with the help of a fingerprint team. The police also began checking the CCTV footage of the nearby areas to identify the robbers.Shahpur police station in charge, Manish Kumar Anand, said: “The robbers entered the house by breaking the lock of the main gate and then looted jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh, as per the complainant. So far, the police have not got any clue from the CCTV footage. The family was away in Delhi for the past 10-15 days.”Dheeraj said his two brothers serve in the IAF, and his parents live in Delhi due to his father’s heart condition. On Sept 5, when his father’s health worsened, he locked the house and went to Delhi, while his pregnant wife stayed at her parent’s house.According to the complainant filed with the police, the robbers took away several gold jewellery.
