In an undated video, Umar Ul Nabi, a doctor who is alleged to be at the wheels of the car that exploded on November 10 near Red Fort in Delhi killing over a dozen people, is seen talking about the act of suicide bombing.
A 1.20 minute video clip, posted by a Hindi news channel first on Tuesday (November 18, 2025), shows Dr Nabi speaking about “martyrdom operations” in a heavy English accent.

While officials in the security establishment confirmed to The Hindu that the person in the video is Dr Nabi, they said they were verifying the date when it was shot.
The video appears to have been shot in the premises of Al Falah University, Faridabad where Dr Nabi had been working since 2023, an official said.
In the video shot by the doctor on his phone, he appears to be rehearsing his statement and turns away the phone when he loses the line of thought.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) took over the probe in the Red Fort car explosion on November 11.
On November 16, the agency’s statement for the first time confirmed that Dr Nabi was a “suicide bomber”. Sources in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) till now suspected that the the blast was premature and did not cause as much damage as it could have, as the suspect was acting hastily due to the pressure of police raids that had already led to the arrest of two of his colleagues earlier.
The NIA’s statement confirmed that this is the first car-borne suicide attack in the national capital and only the second since the 2019 Pulwama terror attack when a car-borne suicide bomber rammed into a bus killing 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in south Kashmir.
Over the past two days, NIA has arrested two people- Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the car involved in the attack was registered and another accused — Bilal Wani alias Danish who allegedly provided technical support by “modifying drones and attempting to make rockets ahead of the deadly car bomb blast.”
After the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), a Pakistan based terror group claiming responsibility for the attack had released a video of Adil Ahmad Dar, the alleged suicide bomber who rammed the car into a CRPF bus. In the video Adil Dar sitting in the backdrop of a black and white flag says that “by the time the video is released, he would be in heaven.”
