India has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) warning for a tri-services exercise along the Pakistan border from October 30 to November 10, in light of heightened tensions between the two countries in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor.

Satellite images by geo-intelligence researcher and satellite imagery expert Damien Symon showed a NOTAM warning by India along the border with Pakistan, with the selected area and scale of operations described as unusual. The airspace reservation for the exercise will be up to 28,000 feet.

India is scheduled to hold a Tri-Services Exercise “Ex Trishul", involving the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The aim of the exercise is to demonstrate India’s growing jointness, Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) and innovation, the three pillars of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s JAI vision for the Armed Forces.

Troops from Southern Command will actively participate to validate joint operations across diverse and challenging terrains, including offensive manoeuvres in the creek and desert sectors, amphibious operations off the Saurashtra coast, and joint multi-domain operational exercises encompassing Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Cyber capabilities, according to a statement by the Ministry of Defence.

The exercise will also highlight the effective employment of indigenous systems, the application of Atmanirbharta in operational practices, and the refinement of tactics, techniques and procedures attuned to the emerging threats and changing character of contemporary and future wars.

Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh interacted with soldiers during Barakhana in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer on Thursday, where he said Operation Sindoor gave Pakistan a good dose of caution, and it will now think twice before attempting any misadventure against India in the future.

India launched Operation Sindoor, with precise airstrikes targeting Pakistan’s terror infrastructure, on May 7 in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack in April. The operation neutralised over 100 terrorists and sparked a four-day military confrontation between the two countries, the deadliest in decades.

While addressing the Naval Commanders’ Conference in New Delhi on Thursday, Singh commended the Indian Navy for creating a deterrent posture that forced Pakistan to remain in the harbour or near its coast, asserting that the world witnessed the operational readiness, professional capability and strength of the Navy’s during the operation, according to an official statement.

He also highlighted that the Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is paying greater attention to Aatmanirbharta in defence, indigenous innovation, and state-of-the-art technologies.
