India’s inequality puts us in unexpected company. So, who are our ‘neighbours’?

In India, the top 1% makes about 150 times the money that the bottom half of the country makes as income — and income is not even the great divide. Because if we consider only wealth, the top 1% has 622 times the accumulated money that the bottom half of the country does.

This gap has not been higher in at least the past two centuries.
