A 21-year-old MBBS student from Telangana was killed in a freak accident in Vietnam while his friend, who was riding pillion, suffered serious injuries.
The victim, identified as Arshid Ashrith, was a third-year student living in Can Tho City. He was from Kagaznagar in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district, and his parents — Arshid Arjun and Pratima — are cloth merchants.
The incident, which took place early on Tuesday (June 4), was captured on CCTV cameras. The video shows a rain-slicked road with cars parked on the side, when suddenly a motorcycle zips through and crashes into a wall at high speed. Ashrith was riding a 150cc bike and the impact of the crash instantly killed him.

NDTV reported that MLA Dr P Harish Babu visited Ashrith’s parents and offered his condolences. He further spoke to Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and urged him to facilitate the repatriation of the body to India.
