Belagavi: In a move set to inconvenience frequent flyers, IndiGo has suspended one of its daily services on the Bengaluru–Belagavi–Bengaluru route, citing rising aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices and operational constraints.Until recently, the airline operated two daily flights between the cities, offering both morning and evening travel options. However, from June 16, services have been reduced to a single daily flight.Under the revised schedule, flights will run in the morning on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, departing Bengaluru at 6.50am and arriving in Belagavi at 8.20am. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the service will operate in the evening, departing Bengaluru at 5.55pm and reaching Belagavi at 7.25pm.The reduction in frequency has raised concerns among business travellers, students, government officials and tourists who rely on flexible same-day connectivity between the two cities. Earlier, the availability of both morning and evening flights enabled convenient day trips and smooth onward connections.Passengers fear the curtailed schedule may result in limited seat availability and reduced travel flexibility. Industry stakeholders note that Belagavi has witnessed steady growth in air passenger traffic in recent years, with rising demand for connectivity to Bengaluru.Frequent flyers and local stakeholders hope IndiGo will reinstate the second daily flight once operational costs stabilise and demand conditions improve.
