Indonesia keen to boost trade ties with Andhra Pradesh: Consul General

The Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Mumbai, Eddy Wardoyo, visited the office of AP Chambers in Vijayawada on Friday and interacted with its office-bearers and members. The discussions focused on exploring avenues to strengthen bilateral trade and investment relations between Andhra Pradesh and Indonesia.

Mr. Wardoyo highlighted the facilitation measures and advantages offered by Indonesia to exporters from Andhra Pradesh. He said the State has strong capabilities in agriculture, food processing and manufacturing, and noted that Andhra Pradesh and Indonesia hold significant potential for expanding bilateral trade. Secondary and tertiary processing in the food processing sector was identified as a key area for collaboration, considering the complementarities between the two regions.

Expressing keen interest in working closely with AP Chambers, the Consul General identified priority sectors for cooperation, including agriculture, food processing, value-added aqua products, palm oil, education and manufacturing. He said the Indonesian government provides market intelligence to Indian exporters and facilitates business matchmaking with Indonesian companies. He also outlined the attractive incentives offered in key sectors and the facilities available in Special Economic Zones, including zero import and export duties.

AP Chambers conveyed its willingness to identify around 20 interested enterprises from Andhra Pradesh to explore business opportunities with Indonesia. It was also agreed that AP Chambers, in coordination with the Consulate General of Indonesia, would organise a virtual interaction with the identified enterprises to facilitate exports and business collaborations.
