Building 17 at Al-Falah University in Faridabad has emerged as a key location in the ongoing investigation into the November 10 Delhi blast, which killed 13 people near the Red Fort. Investigators have found that Room 13 inside the building served as a planning base for the terror module led by Dr Muzammil and other perpetrators.

Officials have described the room as their “command post," used for meetings, coordination, and possibly for storing digital data and blueprints of their operation.

According to investigating agencies, forensic teams have collected chemical residues, glassware, and other material from a laboratory inside the Al-Falah Medical College, located within the same campus.

The lab has since been sealed by authorities. Initial findings suggest that small quantities of ammonium nitrate mixed with oxidisers were tested inside the lab, and samples have been sent for detailed forensic examination.

The investigation has also led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles and 350 kilograms of explosives from Faridabad, which officials said was part of a potential Jaish-e-Mohammed-linked plot. Seven suspects, including medical students from Al-Falah University, have been arrested. Among them, Dr Muzammil Shakeel was detained after ammonium nitrate, an AK-47 rifle, and ammunition were recovered from his room.

The findings have turned the spotlight on Al-Falah University, established in 2014 and recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) a year later. Spread across 70 acres, the institution runs the Al-Falah School of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, which includes a 650-bed charitable hospital. The university, run by the Al-Falah Charitable Trust, holds an ‘A’ grade accreditation from NAAC and has separate hostel facilities for male and female students.

Investigators say building 17, room 13 — now sealed — was where the planning began, making it one of the most crucial links in uncovering the network behind the Delhi blast.
