Investigators are piecing together the movements of Dr Adil Ahmed, a Saharanpur-based doctor arrested for his alleged links to Jaish-e-Mohammed, after uncovering key evidence of his travel between Srinagar, Delhi, and Saharanpur in the days leading up to his arrest.
According to officials, Dr Adil had travelled from Srinagar to Delhi on October 31 on an IndiGo flight, a journey confirmed by the discovery of his air ticket in garbage outside his Saharanpur residence.
The ticket, police sources said, has become a crucial lead in establishing his movement timeline and possible connections during his stay in the national capital.
After arriving in Delhi, Adil reportedly spent a few days in the city before travelling to Saharanpur, where he was employed as a doctor at a private nursing home.
Ten days later, on November 6, he was arrested from a roadside dhaba in Saharanpur by a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Saharanpur Police, and the Special Operations Group (SOG).
Officers said he was planning to escape the city at the time of his detention.
Hailing from Vanpura village in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Adil had completed his MBBS from Srinagar Medical College and later worked at Anantnag Medical College before resigning in 2024.
Since then, he had taken up assignments at several hospitals in Uttar Pradesh, most recently at Famous Medicare Hospital in Saharanpur.
Investigators are now scrutinising his movements, digital footprint, and contacts in Delhi and Saharanpur to determine if his travel before the November 10 Delhi car blast bears any connection to the ongoing terror probe.
