Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has reiterated that plans were afoot to scale up Telangana’s current economy from $200 billion to $1 trillion by 2034, and eventually into a massive $3 trillion economy by 2047.

He was addressing the Telangana State Formation Day celebrations after unveiling the National Flag at the police parade grounds in Khammam on Tuesday.

Mr. Vikramarka said the people’s government is implementing a string of landmark welfare initiatives, inspired by the ideals of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, to ensure welfare of all and usher in social justice.

He outlined the plans initiated by the government to elevate Telangana’s economy to international standards and deliver welfare benefits to every household.

Highlighting the integrated approach of all round development, he said, “The State’s economy has been categorised into three segments – ‘Cure, Pure, and Rare’ to kickstart planned and structured growth.

He said, “A free nutritious breakfast scheme will be launched from the upcoming academic year (2026-27) for government school students from pre-primary to Intermediate level. In Khammam district, 61,065 children across 1,187 schools and 6,300 Intermediate students will receive breakfast along with mid-day meals.”

He noted that students’ reading capacity has improved from 11% to 85% through the “Every Child Reads” initiative in Khammam district.

He said the State government’s green energy and women empowerment initiative aims to produce 20,000 MW of renewable energy and attract Rs 2 lakh crore in investments by 2030. Plans are ready to set up 58 MW solar panels on 2,718 government buildings in Khammam district.

Against a target of Rs 1 lakh crore in bank-linkage loans over the next five years, Rs 60,000 crore has already been distributed to the women SHGs within the first two and a half years. In Khammam district, an interest subsidy of Rs 57.15 crore was released to 52,059 SHGs.

Khammam Collector T.S Divakara and Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt among others were present.

Meanwhile, Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar hoisted the National Flag at the Telangana State Formation Day celebrations in Karimnagar district headquarters town.
