Meta-owned Instagram has finally rolled out the Instagram app for iPad. The app enable users to watch Reels on a bigger screen. Along with this, the app also offers a dedicated Following tab and new layouts which are designed to make it easier for the users to connect. “Today, we’re excited to announce we’re bringing Instagram to iPad. People have asked for this for a while, and we’ve taken the time to design an experience that optimises your favourite parts of Instagram for a bigger screen,” said the company.

Watch Reels on bigger screen

With the Instagram app for iPad the company claims to have redesigned the experience of watch Reels on a bigger screen. “Now, when you open the app, you’ll drop into Reels, so you can get the entertaining content you love on a bigger screen. You’ll also see Stories at the top, so you can easily connect with the people that matter to you, and messaging is one tap away,” said the company in an official blog post.

A dedicated Following tab

The company has also included a dedicated Following tab in the iPad app. The tab offers multiple ways in which users can see the latest updates from the accounts they follow. The tab offer the following updates• All: Recommended posts and reels from accounts you follow

• Friends: Recommended post and reels from accounts you follow, that follow you back• Latest: Chronological posts and reels from accounts you follow, with the most recent posts appearing first.You can choose the order of these feeds to prioritize what you want to see first.“We’re bringing Instagram to iPad. I’m really excited about this one because we took the time to design for the bigger screen. You’ll see all the parts of the Instagram you know, but we’ve taken advantage of the extra space to make Reels more prominent, and built a following tab so you can easily stay on top of all the posts from the people you follow,” said Instagram head Adam Mosseri.
